When You Adopt a Dog, You’re Also Adopting the Breed
It's important to keep in mind that when you adopt a dog, you're not just getting a pet and a loving companion, but you're also adopting the breed.
Bingo is this week's featured pet. He was a former Pet of the Week from back in October, got adopted, then was returned, because he is a Beagle.
If you know anything about Beagles, then you know their noses guide them through life. They are never happier then if they're tracking a scent. Beagles were bred as hunting dogs, and they have many hunting dog behaviors wired into their genes.
When Bingo was adopted, shortly after he appeared on the show as our Pet of the Week, the new owners didn't realize that they were also adopting the breed. Things didn't work out, and now Bingo is looking for a new forever home.
Let's Meet Bingo again:
Bingo is 7-years-old and is such a cute, mellow dog, he would cuddle all day if he could. Like most dogs, he enjoys car rides, getting his belly rubbed, and just being your friend.
He gets along great with other dogs, cats, and people. This time, Bingo would love a new forever home with someone who understands he's going to act like a Beagle and someone who's not going to get upset with his behavior.
