Ruby In New Milford Is Looking For A Second Chance + A New Home
Ruby is a dog full of love, but unfortunatly was returned to the Animal Welfare Society when her owners could no longer care for her.
Ruby has been put in the tough position of starting over, and is now looking for a new forever home.
Adopted as a puppy from the Animal Welfare Society, things didn't work out that well for Ruby. Her owners didn't have the time to care for her, so she was returned to the shelter where she is now waiting for a loving family to take her home for good this time.
Ruby is a 3 yr old, female, shepherd mix who weighs about 85lbs.
Right now Ruby is a little quiet, but hopefully once in a new home she may come out of her shell. She loves human interaction, and would be fine in a home with children, but would be best in a home without other pets. The good thing is Ruby knows basic commands, but since she wasn't in a good situation the first time around, she could use some socialization.
Of course she's all up to date on her vaccines, and she's already been spayed.
Because of the COVID-19 restrictions, if you're interested in adopting one of the featured pets, any dog or cat at the shelter, you must first fill out an application on their website at aws-shelter.org. Once your application is approved, you can call them at 860-354-1350 and schedule your one-on-one limited contact meeting.
The shelter is always in need of items to help keep the animals safe and clean. Right now, they are looking for bleach, paper towels and dry cat food.
If you can contribute, you can drop off the items at the shelter at 8 Dodd Road in New Milford. Just let them know you're going to drop something off, and you can do it with no contact by just leaving it in front of their building. You can also check the Animal Welfare website for their Amazon wish list, and have the items delivered right to the shelter.
