This week we have two pet's who had forever homes until recently when their owners, for different reasons, surrendered them to the Animal Welfare Society in New Milford.

ANGELINA

Angelina is a sweet lady and is about 6 or 7 years old. She's a domestic short hair and was brought to the Animal Welfare Society when her previous owner was no longer able to care for her. She is friendly and affectionate with people, but is sometimes insecure with other cats and may need a little extra time to get comfortable with new situations. Angelina is looking for a new loving home where she can settle into a cozy, quiet life.

MAX

Max is a 9 year old Chihuahua and Dachshund Mix who was surrendered to the Animal Welfare Society due to a bite wound of unknown origin. He is super sweet and he loves any attention he can get. He has no problem being around people, he can get very vocal too. He get's along fine with cats and older children, and he would do well with a semi-active family. His quarantine is up, and now Max is more than ready to go to his new forever home.

Now because of the COVID-19 restrictions, if you're interested in adopting one of the featured pets, or any dog or cat at the shelter, first fill out an application on their site at aws-shelter.org. Then, once your application is approved, you can call them at 860-354-1350 and schedule your one-on-one meeting.

The shelter is still looking for some items that they need to help keep the animals safe and clean. Right now they are looking for bleach, paper towels and dry cat food.

If you can contribute, you can drop off the items at the shelter at 8 Dodd Road in New Milford. Just let them know you're going to drop something off, then you can do it with no contact by just leaving it in front of their building.
