Every Tuesday morning, we feature an adoptable Dog or Cat from the Animal Welfare Society in New Milford.

Since we only do our "Pet of the Week" segment once a week, there are many dogs that haven't been able to visit us here in the studio, and there are a few who have been here and are still looking for a forever home.

    Benji

His name is Benji and he's only about 4-months-old. He's a Hound Dog mix, but shouldn't get too much bigger then he is right now.

Benji was a stray down south and was rescued by the Animal Welfare Society. Now that he's here in Connecticut, he's looking for his first forever home. He's very smart, and even though he's just four months, he's already mastered fetch and retrieve and can even sit. So far, he gets along well with other dogs, and loves people, so you should have no problem, especially with smaller children.

    Camilla

Camilla is a 4-year-old Short Haired Pointer. She came from animal control, and now calls the Animal Welfare Society home, but she's hoping that someone who see's this story will come see her and maybe give her that forever home that she really wants.

She likes to have space to run and play and is a very active girl, but she also loves to be cuddled. Camilla can't wait to go home with a family who will keep her busy with plenty of exercise, playtime and love.

While she loves people, Camilla needs to be the only pet in the house. She doesn't take too well to other dogs and cat's, but as stated before, she adores people.

    Mica

Mica is a fun, active three-year-old Border Collie mix who loves her morning run, and really loves play time.

She is very well-behaved, but also a little on the shy side. At the shelter, Melody said she's a totally different dog. She's very playful, loves the attention, and will develop into a much more active dog after she's more comfortable in her environment.

This is why it's very important to talk to the experts at the Animal Welfare Society about the dog you may be thinking about adopting. They see these dogs round the clock, so they are familiar with their good behavior as well as their bad behavior, and they can give you an honest assessment of how the dog will be when you get him or her home.

    Ellie-Mae

Ellie Mae is your typical southern hound mix, and will be one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. She came to the Animal Welfare Society from West Virginia and she is about 3-years-old.

Ellie Mae knows some basic commands like "sit", and is very food motivated. She loves playing with her other dog friends at the Animal Welfare Society, but at the end of the day, she is always down for belly rubs and cuddles. If you are looking for an overall great dog, she is the one for you!

    Roscoe

Roscoe is a very cute male Beagle mix, who's been at the Animal Welfare Society since being rescued from a southern high kill shelter in October.

A rambunctious and high spirited young man, he craves attention and is very loving. Some obedience training wouldn't be bad and with exercise and playtime he should be ready to spend evenings lounging on the couch.Roscoe is hoping he finds someone who wants to give him his first forever home.
