Every area town or city has its own personality and its own unique identity that sets it apart from the towns or cities around them.

For a city like Danbury, there are certain things you have to experience before you can actually say you've "lived" here. I'm going to list five things that I think Danbury is best known for these days, but there are many more, so feel free to comment below if there's something that you can say, "You haven't lived in Danbury until..."

  • Spent the Day at Danbury Fair

For old timers here in Danbury, the original Danbury Fair was synonymous with the city. For the rest of us, it's always been the mall. And you haven't "lived" in Danbury unless you've spent a significant amount of time there.

  • Hiked at Tarrywile Mansion and Park

Tarrywile is one of the biggest and nicest parks in the area, with miles of trails to keep you in shape. Take a hike, and remember you haven't "lived" in Danbury until you've thrown a rock at the water tower and listened for the ricochet.

  • Shopped at Stew Leonards

It's called the worlds largest dairy store, but it's so much more than that. It's like the Disneyland of supermarkets. It's definitely a unique shopping experience and another reason you haven't "lived" in Danbury until you've pulled the rope and made Clover moo.

  • Played Golf at Richter

It's one of the top public courses in the entire country, and also one of the most challenging. The views from some of the tees are spectacular, but you have to bring your "A" game. You haven't "lived" in Danbury until you hit your ball in the actual quicksand on the course.

  • Catch a Titans Game at the Danbury Ice Arena

OK, so it's not Madison Square Garden, but there's a certain friendly-confines feel about seeing the Danbury Titans play a hockey game at the Danbury Ice Arena. Win or lose, everyone usually goes home happy. Just remember you haven't "lived" in Danbury until you've sat in section 104 and participated in the B.S. chant.
