Popular Connecticut-Based Burger Joint Officially Closes Southington Location
Another day talking about a local business closing their doors. It's not something fun to write about, but unfortunately it's been happening way too often.
Plan B Burger is a burger chain out of Connecticut that specializes in burgers, beer and bourbon. If you've never been before, they have an extensive menu that ranges from street tacos, soups and salads, burgers (build your own or burger classics), smash burgers, non-beef burgers, chicken sandwiches and so much more. Their menu does pretty much have something for everyone and if you're looking for a really good burger, this is the spot.

Plan B Burger has a few different locations around Connecticut. They are in Glastonbury, Hartford, Milford, Simsbury, Southington, West Hartford and they also have a location in Springfield, Massachusetts. Plan B has officially announced that the Southington location will officially close its doors after final service on May 18.
Founder and CEO Allie Gamble said that "we never quite got the start we envisioned" since they opened their doors in February of 2020, right before the COVID-19 pandemic happened. She followed to say, "opening 30 days before COVID hit meant we operated more of a takeout business than the dine-in, fun bar model we built."
In the official announcement of the location closing, they said that all employees will receive severance pay and that they are working to put their leadership at different locations. Another great gesture they will be doing is on Sunday, their last day in business, they will be donating 100% of their profits to the charity Bread of Life, which is a local nonprofit to feeding those in need.
It makes me very happy to see that even when businesses need to make the hard decisions to shut their doors, they still look to help out their team and the local community.
If you don't have plans this weekend, take a trip up to Southington Plan B for one last burger and some great times. They are located at 20 Spring Street. Luckily, there are still multiple other locations around Connecticut if you're in the mood for a good burger.
