Mayor Mark Teases Promo Video For #DiscoverDanbury
Stop on by! We'd love to have you visit our fair city.
Danbury, Connecticut — the city of my childhood and youth. I grew up not far from the Great Danbury State Fair, looking forward to those 10 glorious days in October when the gates to fun opened up. I grew up looking forward to being off from school to go to the fair on "Danbury Day". Grew up listening out my bedroom window to the roar of the race cars when the fairgrounds became the Danbury Fair Speedway, or Danbury Racearena. I grew up going to school here, from Immanuel Lutheran School to Danbury High, and on to Western Connecticut State University.
I grew up working in the area, too. First selling shoes at at Thom McAn, and then at i95 for the first time. I didn't move away from Danbury permanently until my second radio job took me to Poughkeepsie, New York. While I haven't returned here to live, I came back to the area nearly 20 years ago to work once again at i95.
The moral of the story is that I love Danbury. It's an amazing place to raise children, live, work, and grow. The city officials think so too, and they're looking to expand Danbury's growth with the exciting new website, which we reported on last month.
Now, Danbury's Mayor Mark Boughton just unveiled the beginnings of a new video for the new website. Here's Mayor Mark Boughton giving us a first look! Check out the trailer and don't forget to use the hashtag #DiscoverDanbury:
I'm looking forward to see what's next for the #DiscoverDanbury initiative.
