Don't you love those signs in gift stores that have sayings like,"Why limit happy to an hour?" "You had me at MEOW," and one of my favorites "If you're looking for a sign, this is it"

As 2017 began, I found myself repeating a certain phrase a lot. I know I didn't make it up so I can't claim ownership but I have used it in so many situations in the past few weeks that I feel it has to be said.

We can all hinder ourselves from moving foward to our next level of self. We overthink things to death, we worry about outcomes when something hasn't even happened but "what if?" is in our brain and it keep going around and around and around.

It's truly a variation of "Don't be your own worst enemy." How many times have you been in a situation that you have been in before? The reason you're there again is simply because you didn't learn what you were supposed to learn from it the first time.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. So what do I say to that?

"Stop getting in your own way."

Think about that. How many times just today have you been in your own way? Did you say you would eat healthier in 2017? Take a look at what you had for breakfast. Did you get in your own way? Did you say that you would make your family more and the internet less of a priority? Did you promise to work smarter, not harder this year?

If you are not happy with your answers, "Stop getting in your own way."
