The clean up continues in New Fairfield after the May 15th storm that leveled trees and caused so much damage. Now FEMA has done their assessment, and residents can once again use the drop off center.

In a statement issued by the town of New Fairfield, they are once again telling residents that they can use the drop off center for their brush and storm debris.

Here's the official word from the town:

As part of their damage assessment, FEMA measured and photographed the brush piles at the Drop Off Center, and we can now chip and dispose of the material. THEREFORE, WE WILL RESUME ACCEPTING BRUSH AT THE DROP OFF CENTER AT NO CHARGE TO RESIDENTS, UNTIL CURBSIDE PICK-UP BEGINS.

The drop off center is located on Bigelow Road, and you can dispose of brush for free, however keep in mind it must be under eight inches in diameter, and you can stop by from 8 am to 3:45 pm on Tuesdays, 4 to 7 pm Thursdays and 8 am to 3:45 pm on Saturdays. Contractors will be charged $10 for a pick-up truck of brush and $20 for a box truck.

The town will also be starting curb side brush pick up, check with the town for times and dates.
