Connecticut Extends Filing Deadlines for Certain Types of Tax Returns
Amid all of the state's efforts to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus, we all know those efforts have taken a toll on finances of all kinds for the residents of the Nutmeg State.
In an attempt to provide some sort of financial relief to Connecticut tax payers, the state's Department of Revenue Services announced on Monday (April 14) that they've extending the filing and payment deadlines of certain types of returns from the original date of today, April 15, back to Wednesday, July 15.
“In general, Connecticut tax filings are based on submission of the corresponding federal return,” Acting Revenue Services Commissioner John Biello said. “The filing and payment extensions announced by DRS today keep Connecticut in line with recent federal updates and, in these difficult circumstances, offer taxpayers and tax professionals clarity and more time to prepare their returns.”
