Two Cops and a Firefighter Get Bumped Up in Danbury’s Ranks
It's great to see when our local Danbury first responders work their way up the ranks and get promoted. That's what happened this week to two of Danbury's finest, and one of Danbury's bravest. On Wednesday during a ceremony at Danbury City Hall, two police officers and one firefighter were awarded promotions.
Police officers James Grundman and David Pardovich were promoted to sergeant and firefighter Raymond Guard was promoted to fire lieutenant.
According to newstimes.com, James Grundman has been a Danbury Police Officer since 2009, and has received several letters of commendation while working as an evidence technician, a field-training officer, and a peer support officer. Meanwhile, David Pardovich has served since 2006 and has received several commendations and one meritorious citation in 2014.
Raymond Guard, who has been a Danbury Firefighter since 2005, has earned more than a half dozen certifications, including fire service instructor, emergency medical technician, aerial operator, pump operator and licensed master electrician. His 12+ years of experience is one of the many reasons he will be a great Lieutenant. Guard starts his first day this week on C shift as the boss of Squad Company #1.
