New Haven and Bridgeport Residents Spend Most of Their Income on One Thing
According to a new study from WalletHub, rent has gone up more than 50% in the last 10 years, but paychecks are not keeping pace, SHOCKER! That’s left a lot of people struggling to afford a decent place to live.

To see where renters are catching a break (and where they’re not), WalletHub looked at over 180 cities, comparing how much people earn to how much they pay in rent and Connecticut took another cold blast of reality to the face-piece.
In the most affordable cities, rent takes up as little as 15% of the average income—while in the most expensive spots, it’s over 33%. That gap can make a huge difference in someone’s ability to save or get ahead financially.

Where the hell is the rent man when you need him? Remember the dude whose whole existence was battling for renters?
We need Jimmy McMillan, his handlebar mustache and his next-level sass and we need it now. Not all heroes wear capes, but many have handlebar mustaches. I checked and Jimmy is alive.
P.S. I'd also like a recount; Danbury NEEDS to be on this list. The Hat City is breaking my wallet and someone needs to know.
