Unique Donut Shop Originated in North Carolina Opens First-Ever Connecticut Location
I love unique donut shops so much. Whenever my friends and I travel, we always try to find the best local donut shops. It's become a thing we do on our trips and it's so much fun. Believe it or not, donuts do not taste the same at all and you would be surprised at how much better some donuts are than others.
Connecticut is lucky. We have a few very good donut shops and just like that, we're getting another. Duck Donuts was originally created in North Carolina and has since expanded pretty rapidly. I'm excited to see that Connecticut will the franchise's newest location.

I've never heard of Duck Donuts before, so I wanted to take a deep dive in and see what it was all about. Duck Donuts was founded in 2007 when the founder and his family were enjoying fun and relaxing vacations but noticed that something was missing - fresh donuts. After that, Duck Donuts was born. The first location was in the Outer Banks and has since expanded. They now have over 100 locations all around the country.
What I found so interesting was their unique menu. They have everything from donuts (of course) to breakfast sandwiches, donut ice cream sundaes, coffees, milk shakes, ice cream sandwiches and so much more. Their donuts look unique and absolutely delicious but something I found interesting was that you can even create your own donuts.
They have a section on their menu called "made-to-order donuts". It begins with their signature vanilla cake donut and then you're able to choose your own coating, pick a topping and choose a drizzle to go on top. I've never seen that before. They also have a section for fan favorites if you can't decide on something yourself.
Duck Donuts will be coming to Orange. The location will be 350 Boston Post Road in Orange, taking over the old Smoothie King location. Their website doesn't have an official opening date yet. It just says "Grand Opening March 2025". I will be sure to update you as soon as we have an opening date. It looks like their hours will be 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM every day.
I'm here for it. I love when Connecticut gets unique new locations. I can't wait to visit and try the donuts when they open.
