Wanna Be Rich? Be a College Coach
If I had to do it all over again, I would run far from that radio bug that bit me and watch a lot of sports. In almost all of the 50 states, the person who cashes the biggest payday check is a University Coach. Wait! What? Yup, it's true. 247wallst.com has just released a report of The Highest Paid Public Employee in Every State.
So just how much does our pal, Kevin Ollie, earn? The coach of the University of Connecticut Huskies Men's Basketball team is number 7 on the list. In his four years on the job, Ollie has led the the UConn Huskies to at least 20 victories per season. That's worth a lot of moolah, $3.10 million a year to be exact.
But Ollie's salary is less than half of that of the number one highest paid public employee on the list. The number one spot goes to University of Alabama's Football Coach Nick Saban who's annual salary is a paltry $7.09 million.
