That dark sky hovering outside may have more in store for the area than anyone really wants. The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch which is in effect until midnight tonight. The areas affected by this alert from the National Weather Service include Fairfield and Litchfield counties in Connecticut and Dutchess and Ulster counties in New York. A Hazardous Weather Outlook is also in effect for the rest of today.

Showers and possible thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening could produce locally heavy rainfall and minor urban flooding. There is also a marginal risk for flash flooding. - National Weather Service

On May 15, the area was hit with macrobursts and tornadoes which made driving hazardous and left thousands without power for extended periods of time. Many homes and businesses are still trying to recover from the damage sustained from the crazy weather on that day. Let's hope this is not a repeat performance. Please be safe!
