Movie Stars Celebrate Biopic of Bethel’s Own PT Barnum in a Big Way
The countdown to the opening of the movie The Greatest Showman is underway.
The PT Barnum inspired film hits theaters Wednesday, December 20th. But before that, it is inspiring the first light show that will be synced up to a live performance from the movie in a music-to-light show choreographed to “This is Me”, a number straight from the movie’s soundtrack.
This special live performance and custom light show will take place Saturday night, December 9th 8:30 pm at New York City’s Empire State Building. The party is a private invitation only affair, however, the whole thing will be streamed live on the Empire State Building’s Facebook page and later posted to their Youtube channel according to Broadway World.
Keala Settle, the actress who sings the song “This is Me” in the movie as the bearded lady, will also sing it live at the event, as the Empire State Building is specially illuminated to coordinate with the film in the heart of New York City.
The movie based on the life and times of PT Barnum, one of the founders of the Barnum and Bailey circus, born in Bethel, Connecticut is getting great acclaim so far. I can’t wait for December 20th for opening day!
