Police Find a Body in the Woods in Fishkill, New York
Police have identified a body found in a wooded area in Fishkill, New York.
A tragic discovery unfolded in a wooded area in the town of Fishkill earlier this week as the New York State Police along with the town of Fishkill Police Department uncovered a deceased man according to the Daily Voice.
Missing Beacon Man Identified
61-year-old Mark Camillo, a Dutchess County resident who has been missing since Thursday, February 1st, has been identified as the man found by police in a wooded area in the town of Fishkill. Camillo a resident at the Hedgewood Home For Adults at 355 Fishkill Ave, Beacon, NY, was last seen on 2/1/24 at around 6 p.m. leaving the facility wearing a red jacket, blue jeans, dark brown or black shoes, a brown winter knit hat with cream stripes, and black gloves.

Beacon Detective Sergeant Jason Johnson told the Daily Voice that officers were called to respond to a report of a deceased man in a wooded area behind the Fishkill Glen condominiums at 4 Fishkill Glen Drive, Fishkill, NY, and as officers and detectives from the City of Beacon Police Department arrived on the scene and began investigating they were notified that the clothing description on the deceased body matched the clothing that Camillo was last seen wearing. The New York State Police processed the scene and determined that the body was that of Camillo according to a police press release.

The Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy on Thursday, February 22nd and police are awaiting the final report. When more information becomes available we will update this article.
Johnson said that police do not suspect foul play,
"There does not appear to be any foul play involved. The City of Beacon Police Department would like to thank the public for their assistance and express our condolences to the family of Mr. Camillo."
