A Danbury woman and an ex-boyfriend that was living in her attic have been arrested and charged with drug trafficking.

According to a press release from the Danbury Police Department, members of both the Special Investigations Division (SID) and the Community Conditions Unit (CCU) executed search and seizure warrants for 31-year-old Nicole Crutchfield and her residence. The warrants were issued after an investigation that had been going on for weeks and based on their surveillance, police say that it appears as if Crutchfield was dealing drugs.

At around 7:15 PM on Thursday (September 21) officers stopped Crutchfield's car as she was pulling into the parking lot near her home on Wildman St. Police say they found her to be in possession of a substantial amount of cash, drug paraphernalia, tools used for shoplifiting, and a bunch of retail merchandise that is suspected to have been stolen.

When officers moved on to search her apartment, they found Crutchfield's ex-boyfriend, Jacinto Andrade, to be holding heroin on his person in an attic bedroom that was reportedly littered with drug paraphernalia.

Both Crutchfield and Adrade were arrested and charged with with possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, among other drug related charges. They were released on a promise to appear in court.
