A friend who lives in Oxford called me last Friday afternoon to give me a heads up that there were numerous police cars at the bank located in the Quarry Walk shopping center, and now thanks to the Connecticut State Police - Troop A - Southbury, I know why.

According to cspnews.org, Oxford Police responded to a call at the Newtown Savings Bank at Oxford's Quarry Rock on Friday, November 22 at 3:40PM. Bank employees had called in a report of a man allegedly attempting to use false identification in order to gain access to someone's account. According to one of the bank employees, the man had allegedly presented a doctored Connecticut driver's license to the employee, which reportedly looked nothing like him in an attempt to gain access to an account. The bank employee pulled up a scanned photo of the account holder's driver's license, confirmed that they were looking at two different people, and called police.

The responding officers found that the fake driver's license presented by the suspect had the correct name, address, and date of birth of the account holder, but the driver's license photograph had been changed, it did not match.
