Is it really all that fun to ride in a one-horse open sleigh? We've been singing that line our whole lives, but I've never experienced it. Is it even possible in 2024 to take an old-fashioned sleigh ride? Yep, and here's where you can do it in around here.

There are three farms around Connecticut that offer horse-drawn sleigh rides according to the Connecticut Tourism Office and ctvisit.com, and no surprise, they're all located in rural areas of the state. Allegra Farm is located on Lake Hayward in East Haddam, and it's the largest livery stable in Connecticut. Allegra offers traditional New England Sleigh Rides, but they do not post the price online. To book your sleigh ride at Allegra Farm call 860-680-5149, 860-537-8861, or send an e-mail to info@allegrafarm.com.

Cedar Knoll Farm is located in Lisbon, and there isn't much information on their website or social media regarding sleigh rides, but their draft horses are gorgeous. No prices or rates are posted on Cedar Knoll Farm's website either.

Finally, Wood Acre Farm is located in Terryville, and they're the only one of the three on ctvisit.com to post their rates and prices. A Victorian Sleigh Ride at Wood Acre Farm will cost $195 per ride. The sleigh can seat up to four adults, and each ride is 35-40 minutes long. For groups, the Grand Sleigh Ride is a two horse-drawn wagon that can fit up to 10 people, and the charge is $300 per 35-40 minute ride. Bring your handwarmers, wear layers and earmuffs.
