Wallingford Restaurant Named Best BBQ in Connecticut

I usually tread lightly at these articles because people have different opinions and get upset. I like to start off by saying what you think may be the best, someone else may not. It's okay and we're all allowed to have different opinions.

Luckily, what were talking about here is barbeque restaurants and Connecticut is really lucky because we have some really damn good ones. It is hard to choose a best when so many have won awards around the state. Some popular ones that come to mind are Hoodoo Brown BBQ, Wire Mill Saloon, Hindsight BBQ, etc. There are so many to choose from.

Well, Love Food just recently posted a list of the best BBQ in each state around the country and a Wallingford restaurant took the crown for Connecticut. The publication said they based their selections on user reviews, awards and accolades and first-hand experience.

Pig Rig BBQ in Wallingford Named Best Barbeque in Connecticut

The restaurant to take the cake was Pig Rig BBQ in Wallingford. They are located at 950 Yale Ave in Wallingford. Pig Rig is a veteran-owned business that is led by chefs with years of country club experience. They are known for their BBQ pork, chicken and baby back ribs.

Love Food had this to say about their choice for best barbeque in Connecticut:

Army Scout veteran Daniel Lanigan owns Pig Rig BBQ, a great independent BBQ joint. The star dishes here are the beef brisket (which is chopped and shredded to perfection), the fatty burnt ends platter, and the smoked mac ’n’ cheese, loaded with pulled pork and bacon. Although most people don’t come to a barbecue joint for a hot dog, the one sold here is a must-try.
