Where has the time gone? The winter may have seemed to drag on forever but it is finally March and time seems to have sped up. Before you know it, they will be racing in Middletown, New York. The 2022 season of racing will kick off in Middletown at the Orange County Fair Speedway just about a month from now (April 9th, 2022), but before the cars hit the track, there is a big weekend in March you can't miss.

March 26th and 27th 2022 is the return of the annual Middletown Motorsports Show at the Orange County Fair Speedway's (OCFS) Indoor Arena.  The show sets up on Friday, March 25th, and then gets underway on Saturday. It is a packed schedule you won't want to miss including the Little Miss OCFS being Crowned and the Ms. OCFS Pageant. The show opens at 10 AM and runs through 10 PM.

The show opens on Sunday at 10 AM and the schedule that day includes an autograph session at 12:30 PM and Best of Show Awards at 3:00 PM. The daily admission is $12. You can get a weekend pass for $20 and children 10 and under are free for the weekend. For Car Show entry information click here.

Along with announcing the Motor Sports Show, OCFS has also released information about the Season Opener. Saturday, April 9th, 2022 the grandstand will be filled again along with the Drive-Thru for the Opening Night Celebrating Big Block Driver Tommy Meier.

It will be a night filled with Big Blocks, 358s, Sportsman, and Rookies. Season points start that night plus there is a $3,300 purse up for grabs. Pits are scheduled to open at 2 PM and the Grandstand and Drive open at 4 PM. Racing will be underway by 6:30 PM. The OCFS box office is taking reservations call 845-342-2573

Brandon Walters' Crash at OCFS

Brandon Walters was lucky to not be seriously hurt Saturday night when his race car wreck at the Orange County Fair Speedway. It was a rare sight to see a car tumble three times and then end up outside the track after going over and through a fence while getting tangled up in the telephone and electric wires but fortunately everyone including Brandon walked away.
