Look for Ice Cube if You’re Flying Out of Bradley this Weekend
Did you know that the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame is located only a couple miles away from the Connecticut border in Springfield, Massachusetts? If you've ever gone to the Big E, the HOF is practically within walking distance. All of the icons of the basketball world have been in that building, and this weekend an icon in the hip hop and basketball world will be making an appearance there for a Q&A.
Even if you're not familiar with his music, you may have seen Ice Cube at some point over the past couple of years performing as an actor, musician or mogul. Cube founded a professional basketball league - Big 3, and you may have seen the movie made about his life in 2015, it's called Straight Outta Compton.
I was a huge fan of Ice Cube in the early 1990's, and I actually got to see him perform once at Toad's Place in New Haven on his Predator tour. Ice Cube is coming back to our area this weekend, he's going to be appearing for a Q&A session, hosted by basketball Hall of Fame inductee Nancy Lieberman, this Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 1PM on the Jerry Colangelo Court of Dreams. This is a ticketed event, but there is no extra charge beyond the standard admission prices to attend. It's also noted on hoophall.com that Ice Cube will not be signing autographs.
Assuming that Ice Cube is flying into Bradley Airport in Windsor Locks for the event, it might be fun to try to spot him on I-91 this weekend.
