Dessert Ideas for Thanksgiving
It's time to start thinking about Thanksgiving and what do we do on Thanksgiving (besides give thanks, of course)? We eat. This is the holiday where you get together with family, eat, and laugh.
The turkey is the center piece of the meal, but I always look forward to dessert. We have the staples that are there every year and then some different desserts people wanted to try. It's fun (and, usually, delicious) to try new recipes.
So here are some dessert recipes with spins on old classics and some that might be completely different from any Thanksgiving dessert you have had before. Good Housekeeping has a list of 45 desserts, but I picked out 10:
- Cream Puffs With Pumpkin Pastry Cream
- Bourbon-Pecan Pie
- Chocolate Brown Sugar Butter Cake With Pumpkin Frosting
- Apple Pear Crisp With Peanut Butter
- Spiced Apple Pie
- Dark Chocolate-Walnut Caramel Pie
- Cranberry Vanilla Cake With Whipped Cream Frosting
- Black & White Bread Pudding
- Peanut Butter Cup Cheesecake
- Walnut Crumb Apple Pie
The hard part is deciding which recipe to try for Thanksgiving. Looking at all these delicious desserts does not make it an easy decision! Maybe we'll do a couple of "practice" desserts to "test" before Thanksgiving.
