Danbury Announces Free Summer Meals Program For Kids and Teens

The City of Danbury's Public Schools are once again participating in a Federally-funded program that will provide nutritious meals, free of charge, to children 18 and under through the Summer months at 8 locations throughout the city.

Danbury will participate in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) once again through the Summer of 2023. Under the SFSP, free meals will be provided at no cost to children 18 years and under, and one location has already started offering lunch. Here are the eight locations that will offer free meals through SFSP this year.

Danbury Public Library - 170 Main Street - Lunch will be served from noon to 12:30 every day from now until August 28, except for June 23, and July 4.

Great Plain School - 10 Stadley Rough Road - Breakfast will be served 8:15 to 8:45, and Lunch from 11:15 to 11:45 starting Monday, June 26, to August 4, except for July 4.

Ellsworth Avenue School - 53 Ellsworth Ave - Breakfast will be served 8:15-8:45, and Lunch 11:15-11:45 from 7/5 - 8/18/23

Alternative Center for Education - 26 Locust Ave - Breakfast will be served 8:15-8:45, and Lunch 11:15-11:45 from 7/5 - 7/14 only

Park Avenue School - 82 Park Ave, Mill Ridge Primary School - 49-A High Ridge Road, and Westside Middle School Academy - 1 School Ridge Road will offer Breakfast 8:15 - 8:45, and Lunch 11:15 - 11:45, from 7/5 - 7/27, except for Fridays. There will be no Friday service at any of the three.

Western CT Academy of International Studies - 201 University Boulevard will offer breakfast from 8:15-8:45 and Lunch 11:15-11:45 from 7/5 - 8/3, except there will be no Friday service.
