Last week we did a story warning you about potential COVID-19 scams that are running rampid. Now we have another warning about a potential phone scam regarding i-Cloud.

The Ansonia Police Department, along with other law enforcement agencies in the state have put out a warning to residents about an i-Cloud phone scam that's apparently been sweeping through the state.

Earlier today (Monday), the Ansonia Police took to social media to warn residents about an Apple i-Cloud phone scam.

Here's what the department posted on their Facebook page:

As the post mentions, an Apple representative will never call you and ask for access to your computer, nor will they ever ask you by phone to purchase anything.

This scam has been going on for awhile, dating back to late last year. If you do receive a call like this, do not give out any information, or attempt to have a conversation with the caller, just hang up and contact your local Police Department.

Because of the number of people that have been contacted in this scam, the official Apple support on Twitter has been bombarded with tweets from concerned users worried about this whole iCloud scam situation. Apple has taken action by posting several helpful tips on how to protect yourself from these scammers on the support section of their site.
