Blake Shelton celebrated a major accomplishment with his 23rd career No.1 for his latest hit, "A Guy With a Girl."

At a party in Nashville to honor the achievement, Shelton thanked members of his team at Warner Music Nashville and the song's writers, Ashley Gorley and Bryan Simpson.

"I appreciate everything that people said about me, but this is about these two guys here today," Shelton said, thanking Gorley and Simpson for writing the hit and saying it was the "perfect time" to record it.

"I have literally experienced this song in every way you can imagine," he said.

The song spent three weeks at No. 1, with Shelton saying that having a multi-week chart-topper is a rarity. He also cited a humorous incident when he and The Voice co-star and girlfriend Gwen Stefani were singing the song together onstage. A fan threw a T-shirt with Shelton's face on it that read, "She's the girl with a guy."

"That shows you guys the power of this song," he said.

"A Guy With a Girl" marks Simpson's second No. 1 hit written for Shelton, the first one being his 2008 chart-topper, "I'll Just Hold On." This is Gorley's first hit recorded by Shelton, though the superstar has recorded other songs he's written.

"I'm thankful for him for doing this so that I can claim to have had a hit by Blake," Gorley says. "I know that everybody's a huge fan, and I am as well, so I love getting to hear his voice on this song and everything else of mine that he's recorded."

Warner Music Nashville Chairman and CEO John Esposito revealed that Shelton has had 18 No. 1 singles since 2009's "Hillbilly Bone," with his latest album, If I'm Honest, certified Gold and the best-selling country album released in 2016.

"This is what Blake is to me: He's comfort, he's fun and he's country," Esposito said of the label's star, adding that he's the same person he was when they met 14 years ago. "I love you, and I'm proud of you."

"A Guy With a Girl" is Shelton's second No. 1 hit off If I'm Honest, following the success of the album's first single, "Came Here to Forget." The album's current single, "Every Time I Hear That Song," is climbing the country charts.
