According to the New York Times, the Federal Government is looking to unload some of it's lighthouses and two of them are in CT.

The times added:

Since Congress passed a law authorizing the government to transfer ownership of lighthouses in 2000, more than 150 have been conveyed to new owners, including 81 that have been handed over to state, local and nonprofit agencies and about 70 that have been sold at auctions. Prices at auctions have ranged from $10,000 to $933,888, according to the G.S.A.

These are the two CT lighthouses that you could make your own.

Penfield Reef Lighthouse is located in the Long Island sound off of Fairfield, CT.

Penfield Reef was built in 1874, this recently restored offshore lighthouse features a 51-foot-tall octagonal lighthouse and a two-story keeper’s quarters with 1,568 square feet of space.

According to the Daily Hive, you'll need a boat to reach Stratford Shoal. The lighthouse is situated on a submerged reef situated in the middle of the New York and Connecticut coasts. The auction begins on June 12, @12:12 pm and the starting bid is $10,000.

Someone's dreams are about to come true. I would cut off my left nipple to own a lighthouse. At least one of my nipples has not been pulling it's weight for some time, I won't even miss it.

P.S. I believe if you own a lighthouse, you must dress like the Gorton's Fisherman for life and that is not a bad thing. I'm PRO dress like Gorton's Fisherman.
