Woman Wins Connecticut’s First $3 Million Jackpot

A Torrington resident stepped forward to claim her cash from the Connecticut Lottery last Friday, June 1^st 

The Connecticut Lottery said Mary Clancey won the $ 3 Million jackpot after purchasing the winning ticket at the Cork Fine Wine & Spirits, 1597 East Main Street, Torrington. The five winning numbers picked by the Torrington resident were: 14-38-40-53-70. 22 was the Mega Ball number, and 3 was the Megaplier. Mary Clancey picked the Megaplier as well, for the additional $1 million, and then that was multiplied to a total of $3 million. The Connecticut Lottery said that this is the first time a $3 million winning ticket has been sold in our segment of the Mega Millions lottery games.

Recently we've seen a couple winning tickets puchased by Danbury residents at Danbury stores. Granted those winnings were for much smaller jackpots, but lately it seems our area has been a lucky lottery hotspot!
