Which Resort is 'The White Lotus' of Connecticut?

We binged both seasons of HBO's The White Lotus over the weekend, and all I can think about is vacationing at a waterfront resort. I can't afford a week-long vacation in Sicily or Hawaii, and the Connecticut shoreline has never been described as a tropical resort destination, but we do have a few waterfront resorts that resemble 'The White Lotus'.

Obviously, Long Island Sound isn't anywhere near as blue as the Pacific or the Tyrrhenian Sea, but the water along the Southeastern Connecticut shoreline is beautiful. I honestly don't think a White Lotus-style resort could be built West of Hammonasset, every inch of shoreline is postage-stamp-size between Branford and Greenwich.

I think the closest thing that we have to a 'White Lotus' is Water's Edge Resort and Spa In Westbrook. I stayed there once back in the early 2000's, and they had most of the luxury amenities you see in the show: a freshwater pool, right on the ocean, rows and rows of beach chairs for guests, private cabanas, world-class chef and restaurant, and an attentive, well-trained staff. I doubt that a group of Brits will try to sail you away to Montauk, Jennifer Coolidge should be safe.

The Madison Beach Hotel has a similar vibe to season 2's Sicily, situated on a rocky shoreline with a cute little island sitting right off it's shore. This place makes up for its lack of a big sandy beach with stunning ocean views, look at those porches above, can't you smell the ocean breeze?

The Saybrook Point Resort is the third place that I found that might give off Lotus vibes, where guests can rent private cottages and villas and test the boundaries of their marriage.

Connecticut is a complex place with layers of issues. Our happiness mixes with our pain to create a Nutmeg stew that tastes like confusion. I can't sit here and say everyone in CT has all thirteen of these things. However, I can say everyone in CT has at least one of these 13 things.
