I just saw that Lake Compounce in Bristol is building a floating stage in order to host live music and entertainment in the summer of 2023 and it started me thinking about all the great shows I saw back in the day there.
Between 1988 and 1992, Compounce hosted some of the biggest concerts in Connecticut. The list of artists is incredible: Bob Dylan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, AC/DC, Alice in Chains, Billy Idol, Cher, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Aerosmith, Tom Petty, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, and many more. Did you know that Lake Compounce is where the Milli Vanilli/lip syncing fiasco unraveled in 1989?
As I look back on the lest of shows, there are so many that I should have gone too. $10 tickets, come on! But I did manage to make it to at least 10-15 of them. Here are some of my memories from the shows that I still have the stubs from.
