The Waterbury Police Department has just announced that the Waterbury PD's Traffic Services Unit had much success cracking down on numerous motor vehicle violations and complaints over the past week.

For decades it was common for the tax avoiders of Connecticut to register their vehicles in another state, one without motor vehicle taxes, instead of sending the money to Hartford. Then the license plate readers came along, and as a result I see fewer and fewer Florida and South Carolina license plates in Town Plot. Over the past week. Waterbury PD's TSU unit conducted an enforcement campaign in several areas of the city after receiving numerous complaints of unregistered vehicles, with fake or homemade license plates.

Officers investigated complaints and conducted enforcement in several neighborhoods around Waterbury, including Schrafts Drive and Austin Road, Stonefield Drive, Northridge Drive, and Harris Circle.

Over the past week the Waterbury Police Traffic Services Unit investigated over 80 motor vehicle complaints, which resulted in the seizure of 41 marker plates for misuse of registration. Because of this initiative 36 vehicles were towed away, 8 motor vehicle stops were conducted, 4 parking tickets were issued, an individual was picked up and arrested for an outstanding warrant, and a stolen motor vehicle was recovered.

I'm going to get the 'Fat' paper license plate off of my vehicle right now.
