This Connecticut Town Was Named Best Christmas Town in America
'Tis the season!
I love Christmas time. Everything gets decorated, people get festive, and drives in the dark just look a whole lot brighter. I love seeing how everyone decorates their houses and how towns bring people together with tree lightings, holiday markets, etc. It's a time of year to bring people joy and I think it's the best.
I make my way to Stowe, Vermont every December so that I can be apart of that Christmas / Hallmark town feel. Christmasy towns are so fun to walk through and it makes you feel like you're in the center of a holiday movie. Now, I may not have to go so far for that Hallmark / Christmas movie feel. Readers Digest came out with a list of The Best Christmas Towns in America and to my surprise, a Connecticut town sat at the top of that list.
First up on the list was Mystic, Connecticut. The first comment made was that it's best for boat lovers. The website talks about the amazing things that Mystic does for Christmas time. They have the Holiday Lighted Boat Parade where boats get decorated and parade down the river. The Mystic Seaport Museum has a holiday bake workshop, there is a community carol sing, self-guided tour of the Lantern Light Village, and shops decorated with so many lights.
It sounds like the perfect place to go to get into the holiday spirit and have that Hallmark movie feel. If you're in the mood to get into the holiday spirit this year, Mystic may be the perfect place for you to go. For it to be one of the best places in the whole country? It seems like I have to go check it out.
They have a free light display in Old Mistick village. Here's a peek at what it looks like:
Here's also a look at what the Christmas town looks like. It's the perfect setting for your own Christmas Hallmark movie.
