The L.L. Bean Bootmobile Will Slide Into Torrington This Weekend
L.L. Bean has been around for a long time, the company was founded by Leon Leonwood Bean in Freeport, Maine in 1912. L.L. Bean is famous for their outdoor recreational equipment, their clothing, and an item that most of us have probably owned at some point in our lives, their famous brown and tan Winter boots.
There are three L.L. Bean locations in Connecticut - Danbury Fair Mall in Danbury, Evergreen Walk in South Windsor, and 227 Elm Street in New Haven. If you live in the Northwest corner of the state, it's a good half an hour to get to a store. That's going to change this weekend in Torrington, and it's going to be tough to miss.
Keep your eyes open in downtown Torrington this weekend (November 20-21, 2021) for a 13 foot tall version of their famous boot on wheels, it's known as 'The Bootmobile', and it's coming to town for a couple of days.
L.L. Bean will be setting up a LL Bean pop-up shop that they've dubbed 'The L.L. Bean Adventure Together Pop Up Shop' in the middle of Downtown Torrington at 12 Daycoeton Place, right by the Library and Coe Memorial Park, and they're bringing the Bootmobile with them.
The L.L. Bean pop-up shop, and the Bootmobile, will be there on Saturday and Sunday, November 20-21, from 10AM - 5PM. According to LL Bean, the pop-up event will feature some of your favorite L.L. Bean products for sale, giveaways, a chance to win a $300 gift card, and a chance to get your own photo with the Bootmobile.
If you're wondering how big the Bootmobile is, if they were real boots, the person that would be wearing them would have to be around 143 feet tall, and wear a size 747 shoe. To put that in perspective, that's 32 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty, pretty cool huh?
