I have some home videos but they don't seem that important or interesting to me.

A lot more time needs to pass to share them, and have people feel like they are worth watching. There is also the matter of me talking through all of them so you can't interpret any of what people might be feeling. No, I did not allow that, even as a kid. Not only did I tell you what I felt, but I assigned feelings to everyone in the picture. Time will never change that.

Some people went a bit more quiet and those films have stood the test of time, like this video that is said to have been taken in Ridgefield in 1968. The video was posted to Youtube on May 23, 2012 by Sturty1983. The description reads:

"Video Captured by Noel Walker & Mari Perschino in Ridgefield,Ct 1968 using a 8mm camera/no audio.Edited,Credit Page,Music by David Sturdevant.Copyright 2012 /D. Sturdevant/Sturty Music Rated PG. lol www.reverbnation.com/davidsticksturtysturdevant http://davidsturdevantvideo.yolasite.com

The video has 4,512 views as I write this on (8/30/22).

I'm not feeling nostalgic here, I was not even a thought in 1968 but there is something moving about looking back at a time period that is so far removed, through the lens of young people.

Even though I was not a teen in 1968, we can all relate to what these young people were doing, thinking and feeling during this era, those are universal themes. I think these lyrics from Jim Croce's "Time In a Bottle" seem appropriate.

"If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day till eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you

If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure and then
Again, I would spend them with you."

P.S. I love that they placed a PG rating on this video when it was edited, there is some rebellion in going away from what is expected of you.

Virtual Tour of New Fairfield Summer Camp for Sale on Candlewood Lake

Camp Candlewood was a Girl Scout camp for many years in New Fairfield, CT. The camp sits on the shores of Candlewood Lake, the largest lake in the Nutmeg State. The Girl Scouts of Connecticut decided to sell the property along with Camp Katoya in Milford and use money from the sale to improve other Girl Scout facilities.

High Definition View From Way Above Bethel

Bethel is a beautiful place to stroll around at street level or to view from above like "basspig" did with their drone, from high above the town.
