It's summertime, and you know what that means, roadwork and delays.

If you live in Sherman or New Milford, road work on Route 55 is going to get started this Thursday.

According to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, road crews will be starting on a road resurfacing project on Route 55 that will affect Sherman and New Milford drivers, and the construction will take place between Route 7 and the New York State line

The first phase of the project will be the milling of the road which will start on Thursday morning, (July 2), and should be completed by the end of the day.

The resurfacing part of the project is scheduled to start on Tuesday (July 7), and the entire project should be completed by Monday (July 13).

The work each day will start at 7 AM and continue until 4 PM, and crews will be working Monday through Friday. Commuters should be aware that this schedule and the times could change due to weather delay's or due to other conditions during the milling and paving.

The Department of Transportation also advises motorists to observe all speed restrictions in the work zones.
