I love finding new things in Connecticut that I never knew existed. I feel like this happens kind of regularly thanks to the internet and I'm honestly not even mad about it. Every time I feel like I know about most places around here, I'm surprised with new ones that get presented to me. I need to start making an ultimate list, because when I'm met with "where do you want to go tonight?" I always think of the same 5 places I regularly go to.

I came across a post on Instagram that grabbed my attention right away. It was about a new roadside stand that actually happens to be right in Ridgefield. Something I love about roadside stands is that they are perfect for summer. I group them together with walk up ice cream shops like Rich Farms and places like drive-in movies. Why? I'm not sure. But I feel like they can all sit in the same category.

This new Connecticut roadside stand is called Flobee's and it's actually in the same place as the old Carvel / Ridgefield Ice Cream Shop  which is located at 680 Danbury Road. Here's a look at what it's like.

Their main menu offers burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and more as well as ice cream and shakes, too. To me, this is the perfect stop on a beautiful summer day. It also shows that there is an outdoor seating area if you want to chill out there and eat your food for a bit.

I'm happy to see a little roadside drive-in like this exists in Ridgefield. The others that come directly to my mind are Denmo's in Southbury and Lake Zoar Drive-in in Monroe. Both are huge fan-favorites so I hope this turns into one as well.

Flobee's Roadside Stand is is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 AM - 8 PM.
