I'm not originally from Danbury but I've lived here for years now, and I've done a lot of research on the Hat City.

That research helps me in my job as a radio host/writer. I'm constantly asking myself, have I connected with someone today?

On the radio, you need to attempt to strike a familiar chord with the listener. Did I share an experience that they have in common? Did I mention a restaurant they've been to? Did I give the listener information that is useful on their daily life?

In a general sense, the most efficient way to make those connections is to talk about the local area as often as possible. I also am a weird guy, and I want to be entertained during the process. Listing the best pizza places is great, people love that, but there is more people want to know. What does it look like inside the Free Mason Lodge? What is under that bridge? What is on the other side of this wall I pass by everyday?

Whether you are new to a place, or you've lived there your whole life, your routine can limit how much of it you see of it. I've been setting out to answer some of these questions for curious people like me, who don't have time to park their car and wander into the unknown.

Rarely Seen Corners of Danbury

If you've lived here your whole life you probably know most of these places but I am willing to bet even the most grizzled Danbury vet will see something, they have never seen before. Some are wonderful, some historic and others are just places where trash gets thrown, these are some of the Rarely Seen Corners of Danbury.

I intend to make this a multi-part series so, if there is a place you'd like me to visit and snap photos of, feel free to shoot me some suggestions. I am pretty easy to contact.

Look Inside Rarely Seen Corners of Brewster

There is an area in Brewster, NY where US 202, Lower Mine Road, the Croton River, the train tracks and a reservoir all converge. This is a look inside the rarely seen corners of Brewster AKA the Town of Southeast.

Inside Bridgeport's Fading Relic: Remington Arms

For over 50 years Remington Arms was one of the most vital companies located in Bridgeport, CT and their facility was monstrous. Today, there is a shell of the Remington Arms factory leftover in Bridgeport. The property is located on Barnum Avenue and it’s become a must-see spot for ghost hunters and fans of abandoned properties.

Former Brewster Bar Now a Popular Gourmet Bakery Called 'General Bakeshop'

Back in April of 2021, I noticed some signs of life in a building I, and so many other Brewster people are familiar with. Construction was underway at a former bar known as “Norm’s.” Right around that time, I wrote an article about the bar’s history and looked forward to see what would come of the space. The building recently began it’s new chapter and I had to go down and check out the new General Bakeshop to see how the work came out and how the food was.

All Along the Posh Tower, Glorious $15 Million Connecticut Estate Hits the Market

This home is not a home it’s not an address, it’s 3 full addresses in a gated community, that sits inside a gated community. It’s a playground, a trophy and a showpiece for anyone who can afford the price tag. Here’s how I will do this; the top line will be what I’d say to you, if I was the realtor, and the bottom line will be wiseass commentary for my own sick amusement.
