Reading is a unique thing. You either love it or you hate it. Reading has become much more popular within the last few years, in my opinion, when "BookTok" became a popular thing across the internet.

People now have so many ways to access book summaries and book recommendations that it's becoming more and more popular across the country. There was a time when multiple bookstores were closing due to people just going to Amazon and online, but that seems to be changing now. Barnes and Noble, for example, was headed to bankruptcy, but that is all changing for the better.

We keep hearing about new bookstores opening in Connecticut. Just recently, Connecticut's first ever independent romance-only bookstore opened its doors in Chester, Connecticut. The store is called Montgomery and Taggert Bookshop and its located at 26 Water Street in Chester. We're also getting another independent bookstore called Folklore and Fable Booksellers which will be opening in Colchester, Connecticut.

There are a lot of independent bookstores around Connecticut which makes me very happy. There's even a Connecticut Book Trail that happens every year where they encourage you to visit all of the indie bookstores around the state. It's a great way to celebrate those local bookstores and keep them in business.

To continue on with the good news, Barnes and Noble is expanding even more stores into Connecticut as well. According to CT Insider, the High Ridge Shopping Center in Stamford will be getting a new location that is set to open on May 14. The Southbury Green will also be getting a new location, and this is planning to open on June 4. Lastly, the Shops at Stone Bridge in Cheshire will be getting a Barnes and Noble and that is planning to open on September 17.

This is all great news for book lovers around Connecticut. If you haven't been to some of the bookstores around the state, I highly recommend going and visiting them. So many have great selections as well as cute cafes attached to them. They've really taken their stores seriously and it's the perfect place for a book lover to go. I'm so happy with these new additions and I can't wait to go.
