Two Connecticut men were arrested this morning in connection with several car break-ins in Southbury and Roxbury.

Police believe that the two suspects, 20-year-old Malachi Johnson and Kayson Langhorn, also 20-years-old both of Waterbury, CT, are involved in a string of car break-ins in Roxbury which occured on several roads including River Road, Falls Road, Southbury Road and several areas in Southbury including Perkins Road and Brown Brook Road.

In a statement issued today, Connecticut State Police say that early Sunday morning (July 15) a Roxbury resident informed police that two men were going through his car which was parked in his driveway. He told police that the men fled in a silver sedan when they knew that they had been spotted. Connecticut State Troopers and Southbury police were able to locate the vehicle and detained the two suspects while they continued their investigation.

That silver sedan contained a lot of items that Police say did not belong to either of the men. These items included electronics, a bunch of credit cards, driver's licenses and purses. They also found tools used for burglary and fishing gear. They are scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Thursday (July 16). Both men are being held on 70,000 bond each and face the following charges:

Malachi Johnson was charged with:

  • 6 counts of 3rd Degree Burglary
  • 4 counts of 5th Degree Larceny
  • 5 counts of Illegal Possession of a Credit Card
