My hometown of Torrington is filled with beautiful murals, gigantic works of art that seriously stop you in your tracks. One piece that has seen better days is dedicated to classic American films from the 1920's-1930's. It features some of my parent's favorite movies and characters, and even though it's slowly fading away, I still appreciate it.

116 Water Street in Torrington is home to Joseph's House and Thrive Church now, but they have an incredible piece of art alongside the entire length of their building. I didn't bring my tape measurer, but I'd guess that the mural is 70 feet long? I know nothing on the background of the piece, and the oldest photo that I can find of it is from September of 2012. Here's what 11 years of hot and cold weather has done to this beautiful work of art.

My Appreciation For a Classic Piece of Art in Torrington

Creating something beautiful out of nothing is art. The old building on Torrington's Water Street is a church now, but what other church in this world do you know of that has a giant King Kong and all Three Stooges on it? It's fading, but I still appreciate the artist's work.
