Hello fellow LaBonne's Market shoppers in Salisbury, Watertown, Woodbury and Prospect, if you receive notification on social media that you won a recent Valentine's Day Steak giveaway, look for the blue checkmark, and do not click.

LaBonne's Markets has just issued a scam alert on their social media warning it's customers that some unsavory character using a fake LaBonne's Markets account has been direct messaging LaBonne's customers with the news that they've just won their steak giveaway for Valentine's Day. With the price of beef as it is, you may be tempted to claim a delicious heart-shaped ribeye, but don't do it, it's a scam.

According to the post, LaBonne's has banned the scammer from their page, deleted all of their comments, and LaBonne's official page has now been verified by Facebook, and a blue checkmark will appear on legitimate messages and posts. That being said, if you do receive a message from a LaBonne's account without the verified blue check mark, do not click on any links, do not give out any personal information, call one of LaBonne's Markets four locations for verification, and report the account if you do receive the message. The numbers to call are:

  • LaBonne's - Prospect - 203-758-4009
  • LaBonne's - Salisbury - 860-453-2559
  • LaBonne's - Watertown - 860-274-9631
  • LaBonne's - Woodbury - 203-266-4202

LaBonne's has taken a snapshot of the fugazi account, and it's one of those three-step process emails that requests you like and share the page, and click on a hyperlink to 'Register now here' with the reassurance that '(This is real and official)'.

Five Businesses That We Will Never, Ever See Here in Connecticut

You can get almost anything that your heart desires in the State of Connecticut, except for the products produced by these five national retailers and fast-food companies.
