When is it Time to Spring Ahead for Daylight Savings in Connecticut?
If you're like me, you're completely over the cold. I catch myself googling when these cold fronts are going to end. It feels like this winter is so much colder than last, but maybe it's just because it's happening in the moment.
Winter is hard sometimes. You have shorter days, dark nights, cold, cold weather. Sunset at 5 PM. Seasonal depression is real during this time of year, especially when going from the transition of summer / fall to winter. I feel like those in-between seasons (fall and summer) aren't as long as they used to be, but that's a story for another day.

This time of year always has me wondering - when are those 7 / 8 PM sunsets coming? Are we done with 5 PM sunsets? I want the longer days. On the bright side, the days are only getting longer at this point. The shortest day of the year was December 21, and now they are getting progressively longer. That brings me to my next question.
When is Daylight Savings happening next in Connecticut?
We spring ahead on Sunday, March 9. While yes, we will lose an hour of sleep, this means that we will have even more light in the evening and less light in the morning. I'm willing to take that 1 less hour of sleep and let my body readjust if it means longer and warmer days.
It's hard to even think about warm days when I've been waking up to my car telling me it's about 5 degrees out, but March 9 really isn't that far away and that makes me excited. We are coming up on the last of our 4 PM sunsets this week. Today's sunset will be at 4:58 PM, tomorrow is 4:59 PM and Saturday is 5:01 PM. From there, it will progressively get later, and then when we spring ahead we will see a much later sunset than were used to.
Hold on a little but longer, folks. We will be springing ahead before you know it.
