Popular Hudson Valley Grocery Store Takes Select Items Off Shelves
One of the Hudson Valleys most shopped at grocery stores has removed numerous items from shelves because they could be contaminated with Listeria.
If you grocery shop at any of the various Hannaford Stores in the Hudson Valley they have announced a recall and are urging customers to check their freezers and cabinets, as certain products may be contaminated with Listeria.
Hannaford Removes Select Items Due to Listeria Threat
The folks at Hannaford stores, with 50+ locations across New York, have announced that they are removing select items from all store shelves. The affected products (below) have been removed from stores shelves including stores in Pine Bush, Modena, Highland, Middletown, West Hurley, Pawling, Red Hook, and Wappingers Falls, New York

All of the items above were sold in Hannaford Supermarkets from September 23rd to October 1st, 2024 according to WRGB. As of Wednesday, October 2nd, all impacted products have been removed from stores and are no longer available for purchase.

If you do find that you have any of the affected products at home, Hannaford is asking that you return them to the local Hannaford stores for a full refund.
What is Listeria?
Listeria is a foodborne bacterial illness that can be very serious for pregnant women, people older than 65, and people with weakened immune systems. A person who might have been exposed to Listeria will experience symptoms including fever, muscle aches, headaches, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and or seizures. If you think you might have been exposed to listeria it's recommended that you see a doctor as soon as possible.
