Here it comes Connecticut, can you smell the tree? Taste the candy canes? Or are you still digesting all the Halloween candy that you picked up at the trunk or treat last weekend? The holiday season is in full swing, and for the second year in a row, a massive drive-thru holiday light display is going to be brought into East Hartford.

Magic of Lights, is described as a dazzling drive-through holiday lights experience, featuring the latest LED technology and digital animation to bring some of your favorite holiday scenes and characters to life. It's a touring display, and this year it's coming back to East Hartford's Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field from Wednesday November 23, 2022 right through Sunday January 1, 2023.

What are you going to see from your vehicle at the event? You will drive through a 200 foot-long light tunnel, pass by over 40 scenes of holiday lights displays, animated snowmen, elves, and they're even going to have the original Monster Truck Bigfoot there done up in lights along a 1-2 mile course.

If you're wondering if this is worth the drive from Western Connecticut, it is, especially if you lump in a trip to the Cabela's right next door to the Rent. They live up to their billing as a sportsman's paradise, or if you're in the market for anything outdoors. Feeling extra festive? You could make it a double holiday lights festival day and head up 91 North to Springfield, Massachusetts's Bright Nights at Forest Park.
