A water main break at the Danbury Railway Museum last week could have ruined the "Santa Train," but after some quick work from the museum and city officials, the "Santa Train" is all set to go with new dates.

According to the CT Post, the additional "Santa Train" rides will take place this Friday, December 15, as well as the following Friday, December 20. The museum will also have its regular hours 10 am - 6 pm on Saturdays and Sundays leading up to Christmas, with lighted rides departing at 4:30 p.m., 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

You have to tip your cap to the quick turn around on this issue. I don't know how they managed to get the Museum back up and running in a calendar week, but they did. There was a 6 to 7 foot flood in the basement that damaged the electrical system. Kudos to the folks at the Museum for saving Christmas.

The "Santa Train" brings in big dollars each holiday season for the Danbury Railway Museum, which is a non-profit organization. The museum welcomes hundreds of families each year for the event. Take the kids and support this great local museum, you will be doing your part to preserve history and the family will have fun.
