Several Danbury banks were the target for a fraud scheme initiated by a New York man this weekend. However, the would-be thief's plan was shut down by bank employees and police.

According to Newstimes.com, Darryl Morgan of the Bronx, New York, allegedly went to just about every branch of Chase Bank in Danbury, Connecticut to fraudulently withdraw funds using stolen IDs that he allegedly robbed from two people in New York City. Chase Bank sent out a fraud alert after the attempt on the first bank which kept the other locations one step ahead. When the next branch's employees spotted Morgan, police were notified and arrived at the scene.

Morgan was arrested and charged with Criminal Attempt at Larcenty in the fourth and fifth degree, Third Degree Identity Theft, Criminal Impersonation, Second Degree Forgery and Interfering with an Officer.

Apparently this is not Darryl Morgan's first rodeo. He is wanted in Maine for a similar crime.
