To all those who are first responders, we salute you! This includes Danbury's Chief Manager of the Fire Department TJ Wiedl who is retiring after 39 years of faithful service. He leaves us having held the responsibility to develop programs, guidelines, and education surrounding fire safety and prevention. He also held his position as a representative in matters with the Mayor and the public.

Send the Fire Chief a BIG thank you not only for his service over the years, but for his generosity. Today, on his last day he made his way to Danbury City Hall to deliver and then distribute PPE masks. These masks are to go to all the small businesses and nonprofits in the area, something he has been doing every Friday since this initiative began.

Although retiring, Chief Wiedl will continue to be our Emergency Management Director to help aid Danbury though the pandemic. Thank you Chief Wiedl!
