CT Drivers Beware – There’s Moose on the Loose

MOOSE WARNING! According to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) is warning Connecticut drivers to beware of moose.

The DEEP Wildlife Division reminds residents to, “Stay alert when driving in areas of the state where moose are observed on a regular basis.”

According to the report, there have been 40 moose related car accidents between 1995 and 2017. The warning and the moose-related statistics from DEEP came after a recent moose citing in Suffield, CT.

Other moose stats from DEEP include but are not limited to:

• A moose vs. car collision is 30 times more likely to result in a human death than a deer vs. car collision.
• 1 out of 50 moose vs. car collisions results in a human fatality.
• Vehicle strikes of deer/moose are more common during peak breeding season -- Fall.

Moose stats from me:

• 100% of moose sighting result in an Instagram post featuring the moose in question.
• 100% of moose think humans are insane for constantly pointing little squares at them.

40 Moose related car accidents since '95? That's what we are worried about? C'mon, DEEP, take it deeper. Maybe get busy answering the Freedom of Information request I sent you last week about Dudleytown, instead of concentrating on something that has happened 40 times in 22 years.
