Connecticut Casino Opens Enormous Sportsbook Just in Time For the Big Game
What a wonderful time it is to be a responsible adult 21+ here in Connecticut. In the past year, two formerly taboo vices are now perfectly legal - smoking weed and betting on sports.
Connecticut is going through the "soft-opening" right now of establishing venues for adults to have their fun. Last week, news broke that applications are now being accepted for the retail cannabis industry, and today, Thursday February 10, 2022, Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville has just announced that they are opening up their enormous new 11,000 Sportsbook today, just in time for the Sup...uh... Big Game.
According to an e-mail I received from Mohegan Sun's Cody Chapman, Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook opened its doors for a soft-opening at 9 AM this morning. The 11,000 square foot facility is located where the Race Book used to be, and features a 140 foot video wall, multiple live teller windows, and 39 betting kiosks.
The 12,000 square foot DraftKings Sportsbook at Foxwoods Resort & Casino in nearby Mashantucket, CT has been open since November 13, 2021. Besides the two mega-spaces, there are 9 other locations around Connecticut where you can place a sports bet in person. They are located in both Bobby V's Restaurant & Sports Bars in Stamford and Windsor Locks, and at 7 Winners OTB locations in Hartford, Manchester, Milford, New Britain, New Haven, Torrington, and Waterbury.
You don't have to actually go to a physical location to place your sports bet in Connecticut, just download the DraftKings, FanDuel, or PlaySugarHouse app, and then you can put $5 down on the coin flip in the Big Game - Tails never fails.
